BioFrom singing in school choirs to studying classical voice, from playing Suzuki on cello to jazz on trombone, music has played a constant role in Maddie's life. She is an avid thespian and has enjoyed performing Shakespeare and annual musicals with her school drama program, including Mamma Mia!, Hamlet, and Fiddler on the Roof. Maddie has had the honor of participating as a soprano and soloist in numerous festivals at the District, All-State, All-Eastern and National levels, and has sang individually in local and regional voice competitions through Bay Chamber, NATS, and Schmidt Vocal Arts. This year, she has been recognized with the Senior Award from Young Stars of Maine and commended with 3rd place in the reputable Massachusetts regional Schmidt high school competition, qualifying her for the national round. In addition to performing, Maddie is passionate about being active in arts leadership as co-coordinator of the Opera Maine Teens, a program through Opera Maine seeking to provide opportunities for performance, artistic development, and community-building for enthusiastic young musicians of Maine. Maddie has studied in the studio of Mary Johnston Letellier since 2020 and is looking forward to continuing her studies in music this summer at the Schmidt and Tanglewood institutes before going on to pursue a degree in voice performance under the tutelage of Dr. Folsom at Boston Conservatory. |
